This article describes a traumatic bilateral MCL avulsion in previously well-functioning total knee arthroplasty. A thorough physical examination with appropriate radiographic imaging study is required for proper evaluation and treatment of this injury, as it is associated with debilitating instability of the knee and accelerated wear and failure of the TKA.

The human skeleton is living tissue that is either growing or being renewed. Our understanding of the pathogenesis of bone disorders has progressed considerably over the past 37 years. A large number of genetic and developmental disorders affect the skeleton. Rare bone diseases account for 5% of all birth defects. The skeletal dysplasias are inherited in an autosomal recessive, autosomal dominant, X-linked recessive, and X-linked dominant, and Y-linked manner.

Once a primary suture of flexor tendon in zone II of Verdan is unable to be performed, or in those cases in which a re-rupture of a primary tenorraphy occurs, the tendon graft is the goldstandard option.

Knee dislocation is a devastating injury that can compromise the limbs viability. This trauma is associated with muscular and ligamentar extensive lesions. Obese patients can suffer of knee dislocation resultant from falls at the same level, and these “super-low” energy dislocations are associated with a surprising rate of neurovascular complications. The popliteal artery may be involved in up to 60% of cases, and the prognosis is considerably worse. In these cases an emergent approach is mandatory. Delayed diagnosis and treatment can result in up to 80% of amputations of the extremity. The authors present a patient that was admitted at the Emergency Room with knee pain and deformity after a fall at the same high. After the diagnose and reduction of the anterior dislocation, an echo-doppler and CT angiography were performed, and revealed a lesion in popliteal artery. After immobilized with a long leg plaster cast, the patient was transferred to a hospital with Vascular Surgery Department, and underwent revascularization of the limb. Despite the severity of the vascular injury the patient had a very good outcome.

A prospective longitudinal study of 157 patients between the ages of five and 16 years, high-performance athletes, who were treated with epiphyseal and / or apophyseal injuries due to chronic stress in our service, was carried out in the period between January 1, 2000 and December 31, 2020, at the Mártires del 9 de Abril University Hospital in Sagua La Grande, Villa Clara province, Cuba. Of these patients, 102 are male, the most frequent ages of the affected children are between 13 and 14 years, pain and poor sports performance were the predominant symptoms, 67.7% (n = 106) were in radiological stage II and 70.9% (n = 7) in pathological anatomical stage II, which is closely related, but not the clinical stages.
